Description Large Private Garden
We were responsible for sketch design, design development and detailed drawings. Our flexibility in our approach and working methods has allowed us to supply additional design ideas and drawing work as necessary during the early construction phase of the project.
Project description
Due to the size and complexity of the site, we appointed a charted surveyor to provide an accurate topographical survey which was essential to deliver our intended design. The overriding concept was to create a terraced
landscape with several functional outdoor areas, clearly defined by a series of interlinking retaining and structural walls. A bold approach which would considerably transform the garden.
The series of outdoor spaces are seamlessly linked and framed by key views and desire lines, with water features and other architectural elements acting as focal points to draw the eye. The spaces vary in use and comprise of a sun terrace and informal lawn to the upper level; informal and formal patios, and new levelled lawn area to the lower area. It is intended that the lighting and planting design will complement the scheme, soften architectural elements and be sympathetically used to emphasise key features.
The project is under construction and completion is anticipated spring 2010.
