The overriding concept was to create a wedding garden and external space to meet the requirements of the hotels needs and its patrons. The scheme comprised of creating three defined areas, these included a large area of decking associated as an extension to conservatory, lower paved patio area incorporating the water feature, and a smaller intimate upper patio section. The spaces are seamlessly linked and framed by key views and desire lines, with key feature and other structural element acting as focal points to draw the eye. Timber structures were also used to define spaces, screen and provide a vertical element to the scheme. Functional and aesthetic lighting was incorporated throughout to allow the usage of the garden day and night. The planting scheme was designed to be attractive with a mixture of groundcover and perennials to provide all year interest.
