Project description

The overriding concept was to create a dynamic bespoke contemporary landscape, with several functional outdoor areas, incorporated as one. These spaces comprised of a series of stepped areas including raised decking area, water feature, lawn, lower patio area and outdoor room, all linked by a centrally located footpath.

The spaces are segregated and defined by tall rendered feature walling to provide structure and division within the garden. The principal feature wall associated with the decking area has a bespoke Cor-Ten steel circular viewing aperture which is centred on a key visual link to the house focused on the water feature and sculpture. Cor-Ten steel edging define planting, steps, lawn and cobbled areas providing clean lines throughout.

Lighting has been fully incorporated within the scheme to provide functional and aesthetic lighting providing a variety of lighting effects to all the features within the garden. The lighting design has been divided into four zones, all of which are controlled by remote to offer total control and flexibility. Planting to the garden will be bold, simplistic and stylistic; a suitable palette of architectural and exotic plants will be used within the scheme.

The project is under construction and completion is anticipated spring 2010.
