Description Wedding Garden
We were appointed as a landscape consultant and were responsible for undertaking work associated with the preliminary and standard services, work stages A - G of the landscape consultant’s appointment.
Project description
The overriding concept was to create a wedding garden and external space to meet the requirements of the hotels needs and its patrons. The scheme comprised of creating three defined areas, these included a large decking area associated with the main conservatory, lower paved patio area incorporating the water feature, and a smaller intimate upper patio area. The spaces are seamlessly linked and framed by key views and desire lines, with the water feature and other structural element acting as focal points to draw the eye.
Timber structures were used to define spaces, screen and provide a vertical element to the scheme. Functional and aesthetic lighting was incorporated to key features within hard and soft landscape which would allow the usage both day and night. The planting scheme was designed to be simplistic yet attractive, provide all year interest and species where selected for their colour, foliage and general maintenance requirements.
The outdoor seating area was completed in May 2009.
In addition to the work associated with the wedding garden, we were also appointed to review the hotels car parking and landscape maintenance regime. We were responsible for feasibility study and strategy for the car parking and produced a landscape maintenance & management specification to address the hotels on going and future maintenance requirements.
